Headroom and legroom in the front of both the Sonic and Spark is fairly similar. In the rear, however, the Sonic has more space for passengers to stretch out. If you’ve got a dog or kids frequently in the rear seat, the Sonic may be more appealing.

Fuel Economy

Although both vehicles get similar gas mileage of about 24 – 30 mpg in the city and 33 – 38 mph on the highway, the Sonic’s gas tank is larger, meaning you’ll make fewer stops for fuel. Of course, how you drive also makes a difference in total mpg.

Handling

The Sonic is wider than the Spark. It has a wider turning radius and can be difficult to park in tight places. Pulling a u-ey is also more challenging in the Sonic. People who do a lot of maneuvering in the city may prefer the more sveldt Spark.

Power

The Sonic’s engine is far more powerful than the Spark’s. In addition, the higher drivetrain on the Sonic means it transfers power to the wheels far more effectively than the Spark, despite the Sonic’s larger size.

Functionality

Because the Sonic is larger and has more seating capacity, it’s a better choice for families frequently driving children around to their activities. It’s also a great choice for singles and couples who travel and need to carry luggage.
